Vibrams :-)
Not so on my game...taking back all my words about getting back into my MOJO!
I ran around yesterday feeling very disoriented and rushed....I did get up and work out...which we'll say was likely the highlight of the day. After that I ran my children all over Tampa, and it seemed as though everything ran over causing me to rush onward to the next appointment...aagghh! Someday, I know.. that I will miss all this ( at least that's what I'm told) but as for this moment....I am glad I have no major pending plans for these daylight hours :-)
For the title of this particular blog I am paying homage to an old and dear friend of mine....a pair of Vibrams. These shoes have been with me for....hhhmmm...I am not sure how long, I just know they have A LOT of mileage on them :-) What happened is...I scheduled myself to run following Cardio Recovery (you know...INSANITY). Only the heat index is so high today that I felt the need to run before 10 am, it felt like 91 before 6 this morning :( Only....my Vibrams are still located in the trunk of our car, that my husband drove to work! No Bueno :(
AHAH! I still have old faithfuls...covered in shells and sand, holes in the bottom where the soles have worn through...taking me all that much closer to true barefoot running...hehe! I can't imagine EVER running in a pair of sneakers again...
I have nothing wonderful to speak of concerning my run this morning...I utilized the run free app on my iPhone doing the 10K training. 50 minutes, 3 minute runs, with 1 minute walk intervals. Not to shabby, felt REALLY good for about 3 miles, great pace (approx. 10min/mile) It just became so hot so fast...I was done...barely able to run at all after that, ended with more walking than running the last 1/2 mile.
Once home...I felt as if I may "go down" after reviewing with my children what to do if I pass out and stop breathing...I sat down (no longer able to stand) chugged glass of water and tried to recover. Whew, did I mention how HOT it is out there today? After about an hour of recovering I found myself capable of completing my scheduled workout and did complete Cardio Recovery.
I may have to hold a funeral for the disposal of my Vibrams :( but it's time to say farewell....I actually have black spots on my feet from the ground. They will truly be missed by me! I have never had a pair of shoes last so long without hurting my knees and hips.
